Famagusta is located on the south-eastern coast of the island encompassing well known tourist areas such as Protaras, Ayia Napa and the administrative town of Paralimni. Ayia Napa is synonymous with exciting summer sun, fun and entertainment, thanks to its sugary sands along clear turquoise waters. In Protaras is the wildly beautiful area of Cape Greco with the sea cliffs with their sparkling waters and beautiful indigenous fauna. One of the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus, Fig Tree Bay is a stretch of sun, sea and sand so clear, clean and blue. On the top of the hill on the Protaras Road is Ayios Elias Church where you can be captivated by a spectacular sunset, one of the most breathtaking views in Cyprus. Famagusta is also very much in the future as the government is studying new projects for the area including the decision to create a golf course near Ayia Napa which has received approval.
